I'm running Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2 64-bit and MAMP (local server). I get the error that XPDF is not set to 755 when it is. I couldn't understand the fix mentioned earlier for Linux, could you tell me what needs to be done?

Edit: I'm running Joomla 2.5.1

Yea, 1.0.5, yea, that seemed to do the trick. I tried it before, but I guess I didn't know to index the files manually.

I spoke too soon. In Filesystem page, when I click indexes with the file selected, it goes through the file, gets the green check, but when I open the Index and look at the details, I get,

"(file not found)" and

"Error recovery document: Type of file extension is not allowed"

When I tried to index manually, the dialog box pops up with the text from PDF, but when I click save, nothing happened. No new index in the Index page.

For completeness and to respond to a request received via mail,
with the patch should have added the files in "libraries/ifile/adapter/helpers/binaries" and you have to give execute permissions to the file "libraries/ifile/adapter/helpers/binaries/osx/pdftotext".

We are still trying to find a way to test it on mac :S

For info, I commented the full block in the file "Adapter_Search_Lucene_Document_PDF.php"

if (!$reportCheckEXIF->getCheck()) {
...
}

and it works ! No time right now to search why getCheck return false !

Cheers
