Manually uploaded the files and reinstalled. The component is there, but gives the following error:
File XML is not valid according to the XSD. Error: : Element 'zend-document': This element is not expected.

The component asked whether it should be 32 or 64bit. However, this went away when I installed using the installer.

When trying to install through the installer, this error occurs:
Failed deleting pdftotext

This is Joomla 1.7.3

But are you sure that you have taken the ifile folder from version 1.0.5 and not from the previous one?

Also check that you have write permissions on the folder libraries.

Then you first to uninstall and make sure you also delete the folder ifile in libraries and install them again. So you do not lose any important data, the index is separate and is not deleted.

I am having the same problems. Getting this message:
"File XML is not valid according to the XSD. Error: : Element 'ifile' [CT local]: The element content is not valid. "
I have tried to reinstall, manually installing etc, but no luck...

After installing the latest version, most of the problems disappeared. The only problem I have now is that manual indexing works, but indexing more than one pdf file doesn't. This is a problem when trying to index 1000+ documents. Any idea?

You can send the xml file libraries/ifile/config/IFileConfig.xml?

Thx

Have you tried to see the configuration (config icon) and set the server bits and encoding?
