Hi There,

I have Joomla 2.5, XAMPP v1.8.1 which has Apache 2.4.3, MySQL 5.5.27 and I am running a windows 7 64bit PC.
I have installed JiFile into Joomla, and tried to index the following pdf file and all I got are encrypted/garbage texts.
Under the body retrieved i have the following instead. I am not sure why. Hope somebody could help me out.

There is one more document which I am able to copy and paste into notepad without any problem. But the JIFile is not able to index them into text. I get empty body. Not sure what I should do from here on.

Really hope to hear from helpers out there.

For the other pdf:
the XPDF, returns the content that you have write in topic.
I have test to copy content but the "Adobe Reader" return message error: "Error in copy of the content"

Hi Giampaolo,

So far I am able to index a lot of pdf, but not the two type of pdf I have attached in my previous post.
I tried to index the test.pdf manually, and all i got was a blank body:

But when I try to index the test.pdf automatically; it works.

Here are my configuration file. I set the same as your configuration file and it still does not index the test.pdf.

Hi,
we don't understand because you can index "test.pdf" automatically but not manually.
Try this method:

1. open this file:
yourJoomlaRoot/libraries/ifile/adapter/helpers/binaries/xpdfrc/xpdfrc
the "xpdfrc" file not has extension, and not the must have.

- uncomment line 7 (delete # ):
textEncoding UTF-8

2. Set UTF-8 Encoding in JiFile configuration.

This indicates at the XPDF to read the content in UTF-8 encoding and at JiFile the use UTF-8 encoding for indexing and display content.

We tried this configuration and it works.
