TOPIC: Display Keywords in Context

Display Keywords in Context 07 Dec 2013 19:13 #1598

Back in January of 2012 there was some discussion about an enhancement to JiFile that involved presenting the results as Keyword In Context (KWIC). That is, instead of just showing the introtext, the search results would select and display the words around the terms or keywords. See Index Full Text Automatically.

This topic is also mentioned in the FAQs. I can't tell if that answer was written before or after the January 2012 discussion in this forum.

The performance penalty might be acceptable to many Website owners and the site visitor would certainly benefit. The KWIC display could be disabled by default and the implementer could test its operation on a staging site. If the performance is acceptable, the administrator could enable the feature on the production site.

Apparently that feature was never implemented. Are there any plans to add that option to JiFile?

Hi,
from JiFile 1.0.8 is possible define the "Body" field in the Configuration Section how type "Text". Now when you indexes your document, JiFile stored the content of document ad use this for KWIC.

For more detail how to configure the type of index for the fields in JiFile you can read this document (for now only in Italian language)

www.isapp.it/it/documentazione-jifile/scarica-pdf.html

or contact the isApp Support with the Ticket

That appears to work.

Here is the command sequence: Administration > Components > JiFile > Config > Fileds > Open. Change the Body field to the Text type. Then Save & Close.

Note that the misspelled Fileds above as seen in the English Administrator screens should be Fields.
