This command works fine on one of the pdf's - the 32 bit option is checked for the server - could this cause an issue - the usr/bin pdftotext file is copied to both the linux and 32bit directory in the binaries folder if ifile.
The administrator has disabled public write access.

Hi - it works for the command line but not for your extension - sorry - I have now loaded the site onto my test site and this time I get an error - Error recovery document: Popen_function_not_exists. I have no access the pdftotext on this server but I am still trying to get your system to work. Frustrated!

Hi,
popen function is very important for use JiFile. This function call the ANTIWORD and XPDF, executable component, for reading the content of files PDF and DOC.
Many hosting disabled a lot of functions (for exemple popen) which can be used to crack your server if not used properly.
You can contact your hosting for resolved this problem.

In PHP is possible disable this from php.ini, for exemple is possible setting the property "disable_functions".

disable_functions =exec,passthru,shell_exec,system,proc_open,popen,curl_exec,curl_multi_exec,parse_ini_file,show_source.

You must "ENABLE" popen function for indexing PDF and DOC.

Remember that you must have XPDF executable in your hosting for read PDF files.

- first: we have 20 requests for help per day and we can not respond to all, because we have another work.
This component is free and we have no income from this component, this is a hobby for us. If you want to use is fine and we are happy, but this component is very powerful and requires some special knowledge.

- second: we have given full support to you (there are 2 pages of forum to prove it)

Now, your problem seems to be the XPDF.
