Hello,

In the configuration of my hosting, the popen function is not activated... so the pdf files can not be indexed...

Is there a way to solve this problem (an alternate fucntion to popen) ? because my hoster doesn't want to change the configuration ...
This kind of problems often appears in mutual hosters : the popen function is not activated for security reasons..

popen function not activated 06 Oct 2013 12:18 #1480

Hi,

I have got the same problem with my hoster (popen() is deactivated for security reasons). That's really a pity, because JiFile is great and I would love to use it. Is there a little chance that the mechanism to index PDF files will change in future?

Greetings
Adam

Hi,
if your hosting not want enable "popen" function, exists only and one solution.

Use JiFile 2.0 Beta version, this new version (we have released in recent days) help you because you can indexing your document in local machine and migrate (manually) all on the production server.

-- Process:
1. Download JiFile 2.0 Beta "www.isapp.it/it/download-jifile.html"
2. Uninstall JiFile 1.0.9 from local and production server
3. Install in local and production JiFile 2.0 Beta
4. Define in JiFile (in option section) the Index Path and Document Path (in local and production). The path must be the same in both environments.
5. Indexing your documents in local machine
6. Migrate folders (Index and Documents folders) on the Production server

One problems is that if you want indexing another document, you can indexing this in local and migrate the folder index whenever in production.

We hope help you with this process.
