I seem to have nested a directory tree. Jifile is using this
/home6/astarmat/public_html/astarmathsandphysics/home6/astarmat/public_html/astarmathsandphysics |

Hi,
when you configure "Filesystem" you must insert only the folder from the root of your joomla, you can start from root of joomla, because JiFile uses the path relative. For example, if your Joomla is installed in: /home6/astarmat/public_html/ you must write only the folder they are present the document: astarmathsandphysics and not all absolute path. For the problem, this is a problem of Joomla! We have found this topics in the web: www.akeebabackup.com/support/admin-tools...allation-issues.html www.ratmilwebsolutions.com/forum/2-jooml...on-in-kunera-30.html |

I am inching forward.
In the database, the extensions/com_jifile/params box is empty. I uploaded a dackup database, copied the contents of this box over, and I am poking about with it now. The path settings look ok here. |

This is the content of the params box
{"base_path":"\/","index_path":"ifile_index\/new_index\/","ignoreFile":".cvs, Thumbs.db","root-application":"\/home6\/astarmat\/public_html\/astarmathsandphysics","server_bit":"64"} and this is the error message I get in jifile control panel The filesystem path to be indexed must be under the root appliction: /home6/astarmat/public_html/astarmathsandphysics/ |

Hi, we´re usig JiFile and Phoca Download inside a joomla intranet solution. Because of different security reasons we use an absolute filepath which is outside the joomla root folder. The not so very surprising effect is, that JiFile has no filesystem folder, which has to be inside the joomla root. To fill the path field inside the JiFile options with an absolute path does not work. So my question ist, what files I have to modificate to make it possible that JiFile is accepting an absolute path like D:/downloads/
Any help or hint is appreciated! |

Ciao Giampaolo!
We have the same issue with the absolute path. JiFile would be really the perfect extension if we could set an absolute path, from the the server root and not only within joomla's root. Is there a workaround? a new version of JiFile allowing an absolute path? Grazie mille to all the team. |

Hi,
sorry for delay to respond at your question. This feature is a very difficult to implemented because this changing the Core of JiFile. In this month we started to develop a new version of JiFile and we hope to implement also this feature, but we do not know when to release this new version and what features will be implemented. |
