They said: pdftotext is not available by default. Could you kindly point me to where I can download it?

So in installed it pdftotext on my server

[root@localhost ~]# which pdftotext
/usr/bin/pdftotext

Can you pls tell me what you have exactly for configuration now so I can replicate it here. *I may have messed up it up since I sent it to you. :)

You have to move the file /usr/bin/pdftotext in the joomla folder libraries/ifile/adapter/helpers/binaries/linux/[pdftotext]

Now for the next step: I need to have it only list search results IF logged in user has access to that document via JDownloads.
Do you have any ideas how that might work? :)

Antonio, I seems to work fine even though the file in usr/bin is MUCH SMALLER (16k) than the one originally installed (192k) ?!
The files show up, i can see the indexed text in the backend.
However I can't search inside the body using the backend.

Let me be more exact.
In teh report Index: I see all the files were indexed okay. No optimization necessary.
I see a test file that I uplaoded, I can click details and see the indexed body OK.
When I search for the contents in the body using your default filters:
I get nothing.

Nothing shows in the frontend when we search either.

Any ideas?

instead of the filename, do the Body field.
In this way we can see if he has saved the contents or not.
